We are delighted to announce that the full draft article for Kirkby Lonsdale has been completed by Emmeline Garnett. As the first draft of an article for a small town, it represents a major milestone for the project.

On Thursday 30th May Professor Keith Wrightson  of Yale University will be giving a public lecture at Lancaster University. His paper is  entitled ‘Also present and hearing: the common people in the age of Elizabeth I’ – all are welcome.

Local Historian, Ralph Lewthwaite will give a lecture at St Benedict's Sixth Form Centre, Whitehaven on Wednesday 24 April, 7.00pm.  All are welcome (including children over the age of 11). Lecture topics include:  The Castle, New Houses, The Brockelbanks, William Pit.

CCHT held its third Annual General Meeting on Saturday 16th March at the Rheged Centre, Penrith.
